Espuña was born in 1947 in Olot (Girona) as a manufacturer of cold meats. Since then, it has managed to widen its range of products and forge a presence on the national and international markets. Exports represent 51% of the company's total billing and although it is present in more than 45 countries around the world, its main markets are France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Portugal. Espuña also exports to other countries with rigorous quality and food safety standards, as is the case of Japan and Korea. The plant in Argentina allows Espuña for covering needs of the American market, still under development. The "Tapas al Minuto" range represents 8% of Espuña's total product ranges, and its effort in innovation has been rewarded with 7 "Product of the Year" awards five years in a row for its Cañitas, Tapas al Minuto and Slices of Serrano Ham in ZIP Re-closable Pack.
